ARCADIS has announced that it has won a significant five year contract to provide global programme management and regional delivery of HSBC’s global capital expenditure programme.
According to the world-leading design and consultancy firm, this is part of a growing trend for corporates to adopt a programme management approach to capital expenditure delivery, seeking the additional efficiency and effectiveness benefits this brings.
HSBC has a property portfolio in excess of 50 million square feet. As global programme manager, ARCADIS will be responsible for the oversight, assurance, planning and control of capital projects, with the aim of improving performance, reducing cost, controlling risk and reducing HSBC’s environmental impact, in a sustainable manner.
ARCADIS will also be the primary service provider for project management, cost management, health and safety, sustainability and risk management for capital projects in the Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.
Global Director of ARCADIS’ Multinational Client programme, David Sparrow detailed: “We are very pleased to have been appointed to this role and have the opportunity to expand our work with HSBC to many more markets and disciplines. Our ambition is to help HSBC transform its capital expenditure delivery in order to create sustainable competitive advantage for its business. Our teams will deliver the consistency and assurance of outcome that HSBC can rely on to enable it to succeed.”
This appointment builds on ARCADIS’ strength in programme management within the banking and financial institutions sector, having been appointed by Lloyds Banking Group earlier this year to run its design and construction function, and other such contracts with major global pharmaceutical companies and conglomerates.
